Vintage Handmade Salt-Glazed Studio Pottery Pincushion

A rare opportunity to obtain from my personal collection, a faded beauty from another age
This beautifully modelled and highly textured antique shoe pincushion is perfect for hat pins and brooches as well as dressmaking pins.
This deeply sculptural, heavily figured, hand made salt-glazed ceramic flower and foliage bedecked shoe pincushion is decently substantial and a useful size and weight. It also feels wonderfully tactile.
The pincushion is of delicious damask; partially shredded with age as this is a very old piece. I happen to love ancient, much shredded textiles so haven’t replaced it as I love its gently sun bleached tones. If you prefer though, just place a piece of your favourite fabric straight over the top; it takes seconds. The glaze is evenly subtly crazed, with miniscule nibbles here and there, barely worthy of mention as the overall look of this piece is so beautiful.
