Finding joy in thrift, Deena has a deep appreciation of the tactile nature of pre-loved materials and the stories they hold.
A sense of rescue, and giving new life to the less than loved, is at the heart of Deena’s approach.
The Joy of Stitch
Deena finds the rhythmic nature and fluidity of simple traditional stitch forms, calming, accessible, and portable, enabling her to share the joy of stitch alongside stitchers of all ages and ability, whenever and wherever she may be.
The sociable aspects of sharing stories through stitch, while stitching, are very important to Deena who often hosts open access community stitch projects.
