Hi, I’m Deena Beverley

I’m a textile artist, illustrator, and writer specialising in working with found materials and the narrative held therein.

Deena’s written and textile work feature in ‘Soulful Stitch: finding creativity in crisis’, ‘Embroidering the Everyday’ and ‘Folk Art in Textiles’, published by Batsford.
Deena has written and created pieces for her books including ‘Stringworks’, ‘Traditional Needlearts’ and ‘Freeform Embroidery’
(published by Lorenz, Mitchell Beazley and Search Press, respectively)

Deena has been a regular contributor to magazines such as ‘Embroidery’ for many years.

Deena’s award winning work has been widely exhibited internationally and she also contributes to radio and tv about her specialist subject: eg for BBC TV working with The
National Trust and the Royal School of Needlework, and on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour.
